Today the Tour de MS team rode in the MS Melbourne Cycle 2012. The weather was kind to us, and we all completed the ride without any injuries.

Well done team on a marvellous riding effort. Thanks to our Sunday training sessions over the last 6 weeks, we crossed the finish line with ease.

Thank you to our support team, who cheered and encouraged us all as we crossed the finish line.

We hope you enjoyed the celebrations, with the delicious food and drink. Thank you to everyone for your contributions today in organising and baking the food and supplying drinks. We thank the MS Society for organising this event and for letting us have a marquee to use.

Thank you all once again for your donations, support and encouragement. We exceeded our every changing fundraising target. The money raised will certainly help to assist MS sufferers and also to aid in further research.

We will certainly be participating in the ride again next year and we would like to encourage you all to consider joining our team.

There is now one week to go before thousands of bicycle riders take to the streets of Melbourne for the MS Melbourne Cycle 2012.

The Tour de MS Team has had an overwhelming amount of people donate to this very worthy cause. Our ongoing target has substantially increased over the last few months, with our final target now being $10,000.

We thank each and everyone of you for your very kind and generous donations and support for Teresa, her family, MS sufferers and the MS Society.

The team have been training hard and are confident that they will conquer the ride on the 25th March.

In honour of eveyone's support, we would like to invite you to come along to Princes Park, Carlton North on Sunday 25th March from 10am to meet the Tour de MS team. We will be having a casual get together at the conclusion of the event. Please bring a picnic blanket, chairs, food and drink.

On Sunday 26^th February, Paul, Matthew, Andrew,
Stuart and Dianna went for their second training session.  This time we met up at Mitcham. Before we set
off on our journey, Paul showed off the newest addition to his bike, a
handlebar camera attachment. Perfect to capture those special bike riding
moments or the backside of the young blonde riding in front of him! He
certainly can never be without his camera. After making sure our tyres were well
pumped up to withhold the ride and our speedos were working, we ventured through
the Mullum Mullum Creek trail. From here we cycled along the Eastlink trail and
then on to the Dandenong Creek trail where we rode to the end. The ride back
home proved to be slightly difficult as we rode into a head wind. We eventually
made it back to Mitcham in a time of 2 hours with a total distance of
approximately 33kms. It was a great effort from all who rode today. Special
commendations must go to Stuart, who aptly completed the "long distance" bike
ride (it has been a while since Stuart has been bike riding). After a hot
morning cycling, the boys came to the conclusion that an abundance of Vaseline will
be required to ease the pain.

Thanks again to everyone for your support, donations and
joining the Tour de MS team. The team is now placed as the fourth top team fundraiser with $6352 raised thus far. We have almost doubled our fundraising efforts from last Sunday. An exceptional mention must go to the third top individual fundraiser Matthew, who has raised $4437. An amazing achievement. Also a special mention must go to team member Sophie for her amazing fundraising efforts  of $655. Well done Sophie.

The Ms Melbourne Bike Ride is on Sunday 25^th
March. It's not too late to join our team and cycle for the MS cause.

On Sunday 19^th February, Paul, Matthew, Andrew
and Dianna met at Jells Park at 8.30am for a Tour de MS cycling escapade. We
rode along the Eastlink trail almost to Greens Road in Keysborough and back to
Jells Park. Overall we rode 36.3kms in about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

During our journey, we encountered a few adventures. Unaware
of his whereabouts, Paul decided to have a drink break outside SEXYLAND on
Cheltenham Road. Although we believe he knew exactly where he was! What a photo
opportunity. Further along, we came across a man dinking his dog on a bike. The
man had attached a board onto the frame of his bike. The dog happily sat still,
whilst the man pedalled along. Truly a man's best friend! During the journey
back to Jells Park, Matthew's tyres began to lose air and Andrew's bike handle became
dangerously loose. This lead to the conclusion that we are mere amateurs, portraying
to be the elite athletes we once thought we were.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our cycling expedition and
are confident that we will be able to complete the Melbourne MS Bike Ride on Sunday
25^th March. We will continue our training regime and meet up again
soon for another cycling adventure.

all sponsors who have made a donation to help not only Teresa, but other MS
sufferers and the MS Society. Teresa and her family are truly amazed and
grateful for all the support everyone has shown through their donations.

We are taking part in the 2012 MS Melbourne Cycle in support of Teresa Dalle Nogare who was diagnosed with MS in 2011. Last year was a very difficult time for Teresa, Matthew and their families in coming to terms with the diagnosis. We thank everyone who has given support to them. MS is the most common disease of the central nervous system and affects more than 21,000 Australians. Through undertaking this bike ride, we hope to be able to raise enough money for the MS Society to support not only Teresa, but other MS sufferers.
