On 5 May 2011, I awoke with a headache and numb,tingling feet. Over the week the numbness and tingling climbed all the way up my body to the start of my chest. I ended up in hospital for a week on a course of steriods and my world was turned upside down. I lost the ability to walk independently, experienced stuttered speech and the shakes. I'm back at work but still with the multitude of weird symptoms from chest to toes. After an exhaustive amount of testing I was officially diagnosed with multiple sclerosis on 4 Aug 2011. At 45 years old, I have what is known as late onset MS. The prognosis for males is not great, but, through faith,family, and friends, and with the help of Prof George Jelinek and his Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis diet, I am looking forward to the future with hope.
Any donations, no matter how small, are much appreciated to help find a cure for this incurable disease.

I am taking part in the 2012 MS Melbourne Cycle in order to raise funds for people affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS is the most common disease of the central nervous system and affects more than 21,000 Australians.

MS Australia aims to minimise the impact of multiple sclerosis on all individuals affected by the disease, as well as their families, carers and the community, by offering a wide range of services, equipment and support. MS Australia's goal is to assist everyone affected by MS to live life to their fullest potential and secure the care and support they need, until we ultimately find a cure.
